About

Built by girls, for girls who build.

HERithm is a global platform where girls identify real problems, use AI and code to develop solutions, collaborate internationally, and ship technology addressing the issues they care about. Education happens through building.

Why HERithm exists

Technology education should begin with agency.

Too often, girls are invited to learn technology through exercises detached from their lives. HERithm begins somewhere else: with a problem they have noticed and a reason to care.

Yasmin founded HERithm to create a space where girls don’t stop at learning technology; they use it to investigate, design, code, test, and share solutions with their communities.

The HERithm method

Learn technology by building what matters.

Every project follows a practical path. AI supports the thinking, but the member owns the problem, the decisions, the code, and the impact.

  1. 01

    Idea

Listen, research, and define the real problem.

  2. 02

    Design

Choose who to serve and shape a focused solution.

  3. 03

    Build

Turn the idea into a working first version.

  4. 04

    Test

Learn from real people and improve what matters.

  5. 05

    Ship

Share the work and measure what changed.

What guides us

Girl-led

Members choose the problems. Their lived experience is expertise.

Responsible AI

AI is a collaborator for learning, never a substitute for judgment or original work.

Accessible by design

Useful technology should include people with different abilities, devices, and connections.

Evidence before assumptions

Projects begin by listening and improve through honest testing.

Open collaboration

Chapters learn across borders and build with, not only for, communities.

Impact over polish

A small tool that helps real people matters more than an impressive idea that stays hypothetical.
